Solidad diCosta

Solidad diCosta is a multiracial(Madeiran/Portuguese/Irish) herm dyke spoken word performer and author, currently performing in San Francisco and Oakland. She has featured at the Green Mill, Poetry @ Dalva, and the Kalamazoo Poetry Slam, and performed at Second Sundays, Poetry Above Paradise, Where Words Sustain Us, Berkeley Poetry Slam, Birth of Verse, Cell Space, SomArts, and the Living Wage Festival. Ms. diCosta has also written extensively for the San Francisco Bay Guardian on topics such as gentrification in a not-so-big Big City and life outside the boxes in a label-obsessed world. Relentlessly optimistic, she hasn’t tired of reminding folks that the Madeiran Islands are 400 miles off the coast of North Africa (yet).

Her chapbooks Orchids are Feral are available at bookstores throughout the country.
